Posted on Saturday May 25th, 2024

Tesla’s latest software update, 2024.20, introduces several significant features and improvements designed to enhance your driving experience. Here’s what you can expect:

Adaptive Headlight Improvements

  • Enhanced Visibility on Curves: Your headlights will now automatically adjust to better illuminate curves in the road ahead, improving visibility and safety during night driving.

  • Extended Illumination on Motorways: When driving on motorways, the headlights will shine farther down the road, helping you see obstacles and road conditions more clearly at higher speeds.

Hot Weather Improvements

  • Faster Cabin Cooling: The air conditioning system has been optimized to cool down the cabin more quickly, ensuring you stay comfortable even on the hottest days.

  • Quieter Operation: The A/C now operates at lower noise levels while maintaining optimal cooling, providing a more pleasant driving environment.

Beach Buggy Racing 2 - Supercharger Races

  • Interactive Gaming Experience: Engage in a fun new way to pass the time while charging your vehicle. Drive to a Supercharger and compete in special Beach Buggy Racing 2 races. Try to set the fastest lap time on the leaderboard against other Tesla owners.

Autopilot Safety Enhancements

  • Improper Usage Penalties: To ensure safety, Autopilot use will be suspended if improper usage is detected. Improper usage includes receiving five "Autopilot Strikeouts," which occur when the system forcefully disengages due to driver inattentiveness.

  • Strikeout Forgiveness: One strikeout will be forgiven for each 7-day period without any incidents. If a strikeout occurs, the timer resets, and the system will be unavailable for approximately one week.

Important Note: Always keep your hands on the wheel and remain attentive. Using hand-held devices while on Autopilot is not allowed.

Security Improvements

  • Enhanced Protection: The update includes vital security fixes and improvements, ensuring your Tesla remains secure and protected against potential threats.

How to Enable New Features

  • Adaptive Headlights: Go to your vehicle settings and navigate to Lights > Adaptive Headlights to activate this feature.

  • Autopilot Settings: Make sure to review your Autopilot settings to understand the new strikeout rules and ensure you’re using the feature safely.

By staying informed about these updates, you can maximize the benefits of your Tesla and enjoy a safer, more comfortable driving experience. For more detailed information, refer to your vehicle’s manual or visit Tesla’s official website.
