Tritium Adds Tesla's NACS Connector to its Fast Chargers

June 12th

Tritium DCFC Limited (Nasdaq: DCFC), a global manufacturer of fast chargers for electric vehicles (EVs), has announced that it will include the North American Charging Standard (NACS) connector as an option on its chargers. This move comes in light of recent industry shifts, with major automakers like General Motors and Ford adopting the NACS connector.

CEO Jane Hunter expressed Tritium’s commitment to advancing EV adoption by providing customers with versatile and reliable charging solutions. The addition of the NACS connector aims to provide Tesla drivers with a seamless charging experience, negating the need for an adapter when using Tritium’s fast chargers.

Tritium's existing chargers are compatible with CCS1, CCS2, and CHAdeMO connectors. These are already in wide use globally and can directly connect to Tesla vehicles in Europe and the Asia Pacific region, where CCS2 connectors are used.

Tritium anticipates that the recent adoptions of the NACS connector will expedite the transition to electric vehicles and subsequently increase demand for DC fast charging. The NACS connectors will be available as an option during manufacture and as a retrofit kit post-manufacture, including for chargers deployed under the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Formula Program and the Charging and Fueling Infrastructure (CFI) Discretionary Grant Program.

Founded in 2001, Tritium designs and manufactures advanced and reliable DC fast chargers. The company's robust chargers are designed for ease of installation, ownership, and use while thriving under harsh conditions. Tritium is committed to continuous innovation to support its global customer base.
