Tesla's Cybertruck has been sighted on public roads sporting a new dark wrap, a departure from its usual exoskeleton grey color. The sighting occurred just days after Tesla's Q2 Earnings Call, during which the automaker shared new details about the all-electric pickup's testing and validation process in preparation for production.

Throughout this summer, the Cybertruck has been seen with a lighter camo wrap reminiscent of digital camouflage. However, recent sightings reported on the Cybertruck Owners Club Forum reveal the vehicle cloaked in a much darker wrap.

Tesla has previously stated that owners will have the ability to wrap the Cybertruck in any color or design. These new sightings offer a glimpse of how the vehicle might appear with different wraps.

Tesla's executive team, including CEO Elon Musk, detailed their progress with the Cybertruck's testing during their Q2 earnings call, stating, “We are now testing Cybertruck vehicles around the world for final certification and validation.”

Tesla confirmed that initial production remains on schedule to commence later this year. Musk mentioned during the Earnings Call: “With regard to our Cybertruck, we continue to build our release candidates of the Cybertruck on our final production line in Austin.” However, neither Musk nor other executives made any further comments regarding the Q3 delivery date previously announced.

Despite the lack of explicit confirmation, Musk expressed confidence that the first Cybertruck deliveries would still happen this year. He added: “And this is no small car, but we really cared about the exterior dimensions of the Cybertruck down to the last millimeter... And we can’t wait to start delivering it later this year.”

This ongoing testing and the debut of the dark wrap suggest that Tesla is putting the finishing touches on the Cybertruck before it goes into full production. Tesla enthusiasts and potential owners will undoubtedly be keeping a close eye on further developments.
