In a drive to bolster sales before the end of the quarter, Tesla has further increased discounts on its vehicles in both Canada and the US. After offering significant discounts on existing inventory last week, the automaker has now upped these reductions to almost $15,000 on Model S/X and up to $3,500 on Model 3 in Canada, with comparable increases in the US for both Model S/X and Model 3.
A review of Tesla's existing inventory site reveals that the maximum discount for a Model S in Canada is $14,490 on a Plaid variant located in Surrey, British Columbia. Similarly substantial discounts have been observed for new Model S vehicles in Ontario and Quebec. Model X SUVs have also been listed with large discounts, with one Dual Motor variant in Oakville, Ontario listed with a $14,430 discount.
In the US, discounts on Model S have climbed from $7,500 last week to over $10,000, with several Model S Plaid examples featuring a discount of $10,840. Discounts on Model X in the US have also reached as high as $10,790.
Tesla is also offering a limited time $1,300 discount when using a referral code at the time of ordering, alongside three months of Full Self-Driving (with referral code) and three years of free Supercharging, provided the vehicle is delivered before June 30, 2023.
For Model 3, Tesla has increased its earlier $2,500 discount to $3,500 for Long Range variants. Vehicles with this discount are being produced at Giga Shanghai in China. However, unlike for Model S/X, Tesla is not offering a free FSD trial with Model 3 purchases, though three months of unlimited free Supercharging is available.
Meanwhile, Tesla had offered a $500 discount on Model Y variants with a third-row seat in Canada, but these models now appear to have sold out. Some Model Ys in the US remain available with a $580 discount.
