Tesla has installed its 2,000th Supercharger stall in Norway, marking a significant milestone in the expansion of the country's electric vehicle infrastructure. The milestone installation took place at Vøringsfossen, one of Norway’s most famous waterfalls, and features a specially designed wrap celebrating the location's natural beauty and the achievement.

Milestone Celebration

On Monday, Tesla shared photos of the 2,000th Supercharger stall on its charging account on X (formerly Twitter). The stall is wrapped with the Norwegian flag and the number 2,000 to highlight the milestone. This installation is part of Tesla’s broader efforts to expand its Supercharger network globally, making EV charging more accessible and convenient for users.

Previous Celebrations

Tesla has a history of celebrating significant Supercharger milestones with special wraps. In March, the company commemorated the installation of the 500th Supercharger stall in Denmark with a wrap featuring the Danish flag. Last September, Tesla celebrated its 50,000th Supercharger stall worldwide with a scavenger hunt, posting a photo of the Ultra Red-painted charger, which was eventually located at the Supercharger station in Roseville, California.

Norway’s Leading EV Adoption

Norway boasts the highest electric vehicle (EV) adoption rate globally, with battery-electric vehicles accounting for 82% of the country’s automotive sales in 2023. Tesla led the market, selling 23,088 Model Y units last year, far outpacing the nearest competitor, the Volkswagen ID.4, which sold 6,614 units.

Challenges Overcome

Despite facing labor challenges and pressure from union IF Metall in nearby Sweden, which led to some sympathy strikes in Norway, Tesla has maintained strong sales and continued to expand its Supercharger network in the region.

Tesla's ongoing commitment to enhancing the EV charging infrastructure supports its mission to accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy, and the 2,000th Supercharger stall in Norway is a testament to these efforts.
