Stellantis, the multinational automaker, announced on Tuesday that it is currently evaluating the North American Charging Standard (NACS) proposed by Tesla. This comes after Ford Motor Co and General Motors announced their adoption of the standard.
In a statement to Reuters, Stellantis mentioned, "At this time, we continue to evaluate the NACS standard and look forward to discussing more in the future." Stellantis emphasized its commitment to providing customers with the best charging experience through its Free2Move Charge brand, leveraging partnerships with charging providers for simple, seamless solutions both at home and on the go.
The consideration of Tesla's NACS charging standard by major automakers marks a significant trend in the industry towards unifying charging standards for electric vehicles. However, Stellantis has yet to make a definitive decision regarding its adoption of the NACS.
