In a move to enhance the charging experience for EV drivers, Kempower, the Finland-based charging solutions provider, announced it will integrate Tesla's North American Charging Standard (NACS) connector into its offerings. This comes as part of the company's strategy to quickly respond to customer and market expectations and ensure seamless, reliable charging for all electric car users.
Previously, Tesla owners could utilize Kempower chargers in North America with the use of an adapter available from Tesla. But with the inclusion of NACS, the need for an adapter will be eliminated, leading to a smoother charging experience for Tesla EV drivers. In Europe, Tesla vehicles comply with the CCS2 charging standard, further expanding Kempower's reach.
According to Tomi Ristimäki, CEO of Kempower, "We are adding NACS to our portfolio to continue to offer the best charging experience for all EV drivers across the globe."
Additionally, Kempower announced it will open a charging station production facility in Durham, North Carolina, and will begin the production of National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) compliant DC chargers in 2023. The company will also showcase its NEVI-compliant DC charging solutions at the EVS36 event in California, U.S., from June 11th – 14th.
This development reiterates Kempower's commitment to evolving with the changing landscape of the EV industry, staying abreast with technology advancements, and aligning with industry standards to provide efficient and user-friendly charging solutions.
