Exciting news for Texas EV owners! Tesla has launched a new initiative that offers a year of free, overnight vehicle charging at home for those who order and pick up a new Model 3 between May 26, 2023, and June 30, 2023. This incredible offer is available to customers who sign up with Tesla Electric, Tesla's new retail electricity provider, which aims to lower the cost of vehicle ownership by providing sustainable home electricity.
Eligibility for this offer requires you to order and pick up a new Model 3 during the specified dates, sign up with Tesla Electric and enroll in the Tesla Electric Home Charging Plan when invited, and live at a utility service address that has retail choice in Texas. Charging your vehicle must also take place at the same address as your home electricity location.
The Tesla Electric Home Charging Plan, exclusively for Tesla vehicle owners, allows for overnight home charging at a cost of $30 per month ($1/day billed monthly). However, for those eligible customers who order and pick up a new Model 3 during the offer period, Tesla Electric will waive this vehicle charging fee for a year.
Remember, the Tesla Electric Home Charging Plan is currently under development and may not be available upon vehicle pickup. Rates and terms are subject to change. Furthermore, it's important to note that this offer applies only to new Model 3 orders, with Model S, Model X and Model Y orders not being eligible at this time.
Tesla will provide more information on the Tesla Electric Home Charging Plan this summer, with an email invitation to join the plan. Enrollment is through the Tesla app, and must be completed within three months of the invitation. Billing will begin from the day of enrollment.
After the first year of free, overnight charging, you can continue charging your vehicle overnight at home for $30 per month. You can cancel the plan at any time without a cancellation fee, but doing so will mean losing access to free, overnight vehicle charging at home.
